These Proverbs struck me hard this morning, and I'm not sure why. Wisdom can be so profound. Is it because it speaks true to human nature?
Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and whoever captures souls is wise.
If the righteous is repaid on earth,
how much more the wicked and the sinner!
Praying for wisdom worked in King Solomon's life and he was wise enough to write down the fruits of it in Proverbs and other Books of the Bible.
Praying for wisdom has worked in my life too. Why be a fool when a universe of understanding is there to explore. One can always start with a daily dose of the Wisdom books of the Holy Bible.
(Wisdom books: Proverbs, Psalms, Job, Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, Book of Wisdom, Wisdom of Sirach, and to some extent Baruch.)
